Honestly, what's the difference? Why would you want them to follow you on twitter and fb?
That's what it boiled down to me for.
Just one more thing to update, follow, keep track of, etc. Not worth it to me.

I'd want them to follow on Twitter as well as Facebook only for if I have future print giveaways, I can request re-tweets to drive traffic to Facebook. And, it's simply more potential to have wider audience. Over time the two groups, while there might be several people that overlap, will become their own bases. At least that's what I think.
Speaking of, I'm starting my first free print giveaway on Facebook this Tuesday. I'm going to set it up as to enter, fans only have to comment, like, or share anything within a certain time frame (probably ~2 weeks).
We'll see how much traffic/fans/sales that generates... currently at ~625 fans. I'd love to see the promotion net 50-75 new fans.
Makes sense. I still don't think there will be the same amount of people who aren't in the industry on twitter that are on fb. Only a few of my friends even keep up with twitter (that aren't into photography, etc)
Best of luck.
I'm certainly not pushing the twitter side, but I do see 3-5 hits to my website a day from it right now so it's doing something... I don't update anything much though (~2x a week) so it doesn't bother me to do both.
Yeah, I'm already finding myself not messing with Twitter too much. I'll pick it back up if I actually start to get a few followers but it's too much work, as is, to get followers/publicity on it. At least for me.
Fan page tip that I discovered... you can tag your page (or people) using the @ denotion like twitter. This will make a link back to your Fan Page (if a photo is posted elsewhere) even in the photo description (where otherwise a link wouldn't work). It also helps if someone posts something about your page on their profile, for my page it would look like -- @Light Of The Wild then the @ symbol would drop leaving just linked text.
Just a heads up, I'm sure some of you already know about that but I sure didn't.
I knew about "tagging" people in posts with the @ sign but I didn't think you could do it from the fan page. I tried doing it the other day and it wouldn't let me. Maybe it was because Facebook was being an a$$ and it wasn't letting me do anything so I'll have to try again lol

You have to be a fan of or friends with the person/page.

Anyone else notice the fan page change? Now it's essentially a "Like" page.
![]()
Yeah...it sucked yesterday because it wasn't letting you see your other "likes" other then your friends who liked it. Now it at least let's you see the whole like list.
I still wish they would implement something that allows owners to be notified when someone comments or posts to the wall. I have myself tagged in pictures so I get notifications then, but I don't want everyone seeing my personal page.

Oh, and Digimom... how did you get your links in your signature to show up as "flickr" and "facebook" and not the actual URLs?
